We started OnlineMed because the tools running American healthcare were burning out the people delivering it.
In 2019, Dr. Elena Vasquez was finishing charts at her kitchen table at 9 PM — again. Her EHR, built for billing departments in the 1990s, demanded forty clicks to document a fifteen-minute visit. Across the country, physicians were reporting that documentation burden had become a leading driver of burnout, and many were leaving medicine entirely.
She teamed up with James Park, an engineer who had spent a decade building the interoperability rails that hospitals use to exchange records. Their thesis was simple: an EHR should work the way clinicians think — one chart, one workspace, and software that does the clerical work so people don't have to.
Today, OnlineMed serves more than 12,000 providers across all 50 states — from solo family practices to hundred-provider medical groups. A council of 200+ practicing clinicians reviews every major feature before it ships, and our founding rule still holds: if it adds clicks, it doesn't ship.
